A 36-year-old Bronx woman is accused of extorting a Teaneck resident, her ex, by threatening to contact the victim’s employer with false drug allegations, police said.
On July 19, 2025, a Teaneck resident reported being the victim of extortion by Kariymah Negron, “with whom they had previously been involved in a dating relationship,” Deputy Chief Seth B. Kriegel said. The victim said that Negron, of the Bronx, initially asked for money in exchange for explicit videos, Kriegel said.

Johnathan Torres died from his injuries on Tuesday, July 15, following a crash that occurred around 3:37 a.m. on Sunday, July 13, according to a press release from Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin.
