Mineola resident Peter Koonanikal, 56, was arrested on Sunday, Sept. 22 at the street fair, after he allegedly approached a 14-year-old girl and grabbed her inappropriately. Police said that his teenage victim took a picture of Koonanikal during the incident, and he proceeded to walk away. Matthew Widener, 34, of Farmingville, who worked at the Karasmatic Day Spa in Bayport and Elements Massage in Smithtown pleaded guilty earlier this summer to 11 counts of forcible touching and sexual abuse. Widener worked at Karasmatic Day Spa for approximately a year, and was immediately fired when his employer was made aware of the allegations.
