A Connecticut man is dead after he shot his wife and then himself earlier this week, authorities said. He called 911 shortly before the murder-suicide to tell police his plan and how they could get inside their house.
John Ezzell, 62, of Plainfield, called 911 around 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, to report that his wife, Christine Ezzell, 62, was dying of cancer, and he planned to end her suffering and then kill himself, police said. He told them he would leave the door open for Plainfield officers.

A New Jersey man was struck and killed on FDR Drive in New York City late Wednesday, Nov. 26, the NYPD said.
Justin Siguencia, 22, of Belleville, was lying in the northbound lanes when he was struck by a 2026 Honda Odyssey van and subsequently by a 2016 Mini Cooper sedan, just before midnight near East 105 Street, police said.
EMS arrived and pronounced Siguencia deceased at the scene, according to the NYPD.
Police said the 35-year-old man driving the Honda and the 45-year-old woman driving the Mini Cooper remained at the scene and were not injured.
